Privacy Policy

In one paragraph

Tiffly is a TIFF viewer and PDF converter for iPhone and iPad. Your files never leave your device. We do not require an account, we do not collect your name or email, and we never upload the TIFFs or PDFs you open or export.

To keep the app stable and free, Tiffly uses Firebase (crash reports and anonymous usage events) and — for free users only — Google AdMob to show ads. You control ad tracking through iOS App Tracking Transparency and, in the EU/EEA, a Google consent form.

1. Who we are

Tiffly is made by Pergel. Questions, requests, and feedback go to tiffly@pergel.co. References in this policy to "we," "us," "our," and "Tiffly" mean Pergel in its capacity as publisher of the Tiffly iOS application.

2. What Tiffly does

Tiffly opens multi-page TIFF files and lets you export them as watermark-free PDFs. Rendering, conversion, OCR text extraction, and PDF password protection all run locally on your device using Apple frameworks (ImageIO, PDFKit, VisionKit). Tiffly does not have a cloud backend of its own.

3. Information we do not collect

Tiffly does not ask for and does not collect:

  • Your name, email address, phone number, or physical address.
  • Your precise or approximate location.
  • Your contacts, calendar, photos library metadata, or health data.
  • The contents of the TIFFs or PDFs you view, create, or export.
  • Any information that directly identifies you as an individual.

4. Information kept on your device

These items are stored on your device only, in the Tiffly app's sandbox and shared App Group container. They are not transmitted to us or to any third party:

  • TIFF files you import and PDFs you export.
  • App preferences (selected quality, sort order, last-used folder, etc.).
  • Your Tiffly Pro purchase status, verified through Apple StoreKit.

You can remove all of this at any time by deleting the app. iOS will clear the sandbox and App Group data.

5. Information transmitted over the network

The following categories of data leave your device. None of them include the TIFFs or PDFs you open or export.

5.1 Purchases — Apple (StoreKit 2)

When you buy Tiffly Pro, the transaction is processed by Apple. Apple shares a signed receipt with the app so Tiffly can unlock Pro features. Apple's handling of your Apple ID, payment information, and purchase history is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. Tiffly itself never sees your payment details.

5.2 Stability and usage — Firebase (Google)

Tiffly uses Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics (both by Google) to understand how the app performs. This covers crash stack traces, approximate device model, iOS version, app version, locale, and anonymous event counts (for example, "user exported a PDF" without the filename or contents). This data is pseudonymous and is not tied to your name or email. Firebase Analytics retains event data for up to 14 months by default; Crashlytics crash logs are retained for 90 days. Both retention periods are set and managed by Google. Google's handling is described at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

5.3 Advertising — Google AdMob (free users only)

Free users see occasional banner and interstitial ads served by Google AdMob. Depending on your App Tracking Transparency choice and, in the EU/EEA/UK/Switzerland, your Google consent form selection, AdMob may receive your advertising identifier (IDFA), IP address, coarse location inferred from IP, and ad-interaction events. Pro users do not see ads and no ad-related requests are made on their behalf. Google's policy: policies.google.com/privacy.

5.4 Consent — Google User Messaging Platform (UMP)

In jurisdictions that require it (notably the EU/EEA, UK, and Switzerland), Tiffly shows a Google UMP consent form before any personalized ads load. Your choice is stored on your device and sent with ad requests so that AdMob honors it.

5.5 App Tracking Transparency (ATT)

On iOS 14.5 and later, Tiffly shows Apple's Tracking prompt. If you allow tracking, Tiffly passes your IDFA to AdMob. If you don't, AdMob receives a zeroed identifier and serves non-personalized ads. You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → Tiffly.

6. Local network (Wi-Fi transfer)

Tiffly has an optional Wi-Fi transfer feature that runs a short-lived web server on your device so you can send TIFFs to and from a nearby computer. iOS therefore asks for local network permission. This traffic stays on your local Wi-Fi; the server shuts down when you close the feature. No files, logs, or metadata are sent to us.

7. Children's privacy

Tiffly is not directed to children under 13 and is not in Apple's Kids category. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Your rights (GDPR, CCPA, KVKK)

Because we do not maintain an account system and do not collect directly-identifying information, traditional "access my data" and "delete my data" requests are largely satisfied by deleting the app, resetting your advertising identifier in iOS Settings, and revoking tracking permission. If you are in the EU/EEA/UK or Turkey and believe we still hold information about you, write to tiffly@pergel.co and we will respond within 30 days.

For users in Turkey: Pergel acts as veri sorumlusu under the KVKK (Law No. 6698) with respect to any information described above. You may exercise your rights under Article 11 of the KVKK by contacting us at the same address.

9. Third-party services we rely on

10. Changes to this policy

If we make a material change to this policy, we will update the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, surface a notice in the app. Older versions are kept in our version control; ask us if you need a copy.

11. Contact

Write to tiffly@pergel.co in English or Turkish.
